How to use this tool

Upload your photo. A green tick confirms it loaded.
Pick your country (or set Unit + size). A pixel hint shows e.g. “≈ 413 × 531 px @ 300 ppi”.
Click Confirm Size, adjust the crop. Optional 70%+ check: make sure both green dotted lines sit inside your face (atleast touch your ears), then choose Step 2 – Resize.
Optionally, click Make Background White, then Download Image. Use 🖨️ Create Print Sheet to print multiples.

The pixels are right, but mm/in looked wrong on another site.

We now export JPEG and embed 300 ppi in the JFIF header so most checkers show ~35×45 mm for 413×531 px.

Does the tool reduce quality?

We resample once using high-quality filtering and export as high-quality JPEG. Small pixel outputs will look soft when zoomed—that’s normal.

Custom sizes like 37 × 49 mm?

Yes. Enter any values. At 300 ppi that’s ≈437×579 px. The hint shows the conversion.

Re-upload shows old image?

Fixed—choosing a new file and pressing Confirm Size reloads the cropper with the new image.

Size: Many countries use 35 × 45 mm. The US uses 2 × 2 in (51 × 51 mm).
Background: Plain white, evenly lit.
Pose: Face forward, eyes open, neutral expression.
Headwear: Only for religious/medical reasons; full face visible.
File: JPEG/PNG, ideally ≤ 1 MB.
